YOU CAN HAVE THAT BIG DIAMOND YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED. HERE'S HOW!
Indeed, who doesn't want a large, flawless diamond for an affordable price? The problem is, you probably can't find one. Even if you did, expect to pay above an affordable price for it-as that truly is a one of a kind engagement ring you're carrying. An "FI" diamond is rare and expensive. But if your problem is a lack of confidence due to your tiny diamond, then there are ways around that little problem. (Oops, poor choice of words.) You can make your diamond look bigger than it really is and pay the same reasonable price. Sound good? Here are some tips on making a diamond look bigger than it really is. 1. Can You Really Tell If It's a Man Made Diamond or Not? Buy a simulated diamond otherwise known as a diamond simulant. Some of the man made diamond rings contain moissanite, briolite and cubic zironia (CZ) stones. These diamond alternatives serve as very realistic looking alternatives to diamonds and their brilliance often overshadows the genuine diamond. The Russian market has flourished in recent years so there are many great deals to be had by finding a good Russian supplier. It sounds creepy, but some man made diamonds even come from human ashes!!! 2. It's Not The Size That Counts...It's The Fancy Shapes! Yes, people will be so fascinated by the unique shape of the engagement ring they will hardly notice that it's not a large round diamond of heavier carat. Diamond shapes that are elongated distract well-consider a diamond in the shape of marquise, and oval or a pear. 3. Get Some Back Up Speaking of side a stone that is. A slightly smaller diamond won't seem so small if it has some genuine friend gemstones supporting it. While it doesn't make the diamond magically grow, it does give your audience much more to ooh and aah over. 4. The Illusionist An illusion setting sees your diamond being mounted to a type of reflective plate (much like a mirror) before being put into the band. This literally does make the ring look larger, with an added degree of brilliance. Everybody loves a magician. 5. Enlarge Your Diamond Size! If size is really all that matters to you, opt for the shallow cut rather than the traditional deep cut. Using a shallow cut does make the diamond look bigger than it ordinarily would. The only downside here is that you will lose some brilliance in this process. But if it's substance over sparkle you prefer, this will solve your problem. 6. Pave The Way Speaking of a "pave" setting. A pave setting is a group of small diamonds all set side by side into small holes and surfaces level with the setting. Pave settings look like a surface of countless diamonds, which makes it difficult to distinguish one from the other. This not only distracts from a lack of one big round diamond, it also seems that the small diamond stones are larger than they really are. Size isn't everything. And using one of these five techniques can save you the pressure of having a small diamond during those priceless romantic moments. |
